Syphilis Test

Unisex

GetTested’s Syphilis Test is a rapid at home blood test for people who want a private first screening after possible exposure to syphilis. If you have had unprotected sex, a new partner, partner exposure, or symptoms such as a painless sore, rash, swollen lymph nodes, fever or unexplained fatigue, this test can help you check whether syphilis antibodies may be present. Syphilis can sometimes cause mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, especially in early or hidden stages. The test screens for antibodies to Treponema pallidum, the bacterium associated with syphilis, and gives a result in approximately 10 minutes.

About Syphilis Test

Understand Syphilis Self Testing

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection that can develop in stages. Early symptoms may include a painless sore, swollen lymph nodes, rash, fever, fatigue or patchy hair loss, but symptoms can vary and may be missed.

This rapid self test detects antibodies to Treponema pallidum from a finger prick blood sample. A positive result may indicate current or past exposure and should always be followed up through healthcare services.

The test is intended as an initial screening tool and does not replace medical diagnosis or professional follow up.

What the Result Can Tell You

The test gives a positive or negative result.

Positive result
A positive result means syphilis antibodies may be present. This may indicate current or past exposure and should be confirmed through healthcare services.

Negative result
A negative result means no syphilis antibodies were detected at the test level. If testing is done too early after exposure, antibodies may not yet be detectable.

If the test does not show a valid control line or the result cannot be read according to the instructions, the test should be considered not interpretable and repeated with a new test.
